Sophie’s Top tips for planning your own Grand Design:

• Dream!
• Think of the Sunday afternoon test: when it is grey outside and tomorrow is Monday…do I feel happy in this space?
• Be ready and open to surprises

Just before the Build stage:

• Get a building contract! The Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) provide building contract to suit the scale of your project
• State the obvious
• Be fair
